Stephen Millhouse is taking his journey to fight homelessness one step at a time. The Montana resident was in Auburn Friday to share his message. “I want others to get involved,” Millhouse said. Millhouse is trekking1,460 miles from Montana to Los Angeles to raise awareness and money for his cause, My One Man March for the Homeless. He said he is in the process of starting a nonprofit 501(c)3 and wants to be “fully transparent.” He said the money he hopes to raise through his walk will be spent in four states through a grant process but did not have more specific information. Millhouse estimated he walked about 950 miles by the time he reached Auburn. “I came over the Donner Pass and made it safely,” Millhouse said. Millhouse, a veteran, who said he was once homeless, said he hopes others realize “there are people living on the edge of homelessness.” For more information, visit myonemanmarch .org. ~ Jenifer Gee
