Manager’s salary, firefighter funding on city council agenda

-A +A
The Auburn City Council will vote on a proposed two-year contract extension for City Manager Bob Richardson Monday. A resolution to approve Richardson’s contract through February 2014 is among the council’s consent agenda items. Richardson’s contract is set to end in February 2012. During closed session of a Jan. 13 meeting, the City Council unanimously agreed that Richardson “met or exceeded the council’s expectations for his performance,” according to a memo prepared by City Attorney Michael Colantuono. In June 2009, the city approved a 10 percent pay cut to management salaries, including Richardson’s, which was listed at $138,265 annually as of July 2007, according to the contract given to the council for their Monday meeting. The council is also expected to hold a public hearing on whether to accept an Assistance for Firefighter’s grant and create a request to purchase firefighting equipment through the grant. Other agenda items include a report on the city’s wastewater treatment permit. The council’s meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Feb. 22 in the council chambers in City Hall, located on 1225 Lincoln Way in Auburn. ~ Jenifer Gee
