Dec. 7, 1941 was a “Day of Infamy,” (Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor). March 21, 2010 is the second “Day of Infamy,” an attack on the United States, except this attack came from our elected leaders in Washington, D.C. and this current attack, if it stands up, will be far more expensive and detrimental to our economy than the one in 1941. Every reasonable, intelligent Democrat should be ashamed of the leadership in Washington. The way this monstrosity of a health care bill was carried out reminds me of something Hugo Chavez of Venezuela would do to his people. We must all write to get this multi-trillion dollar deficit bill repealed or nullified as soon as possible. For sure, when you vote on Nov. 2, remember who voted for this bill and vote them out of office. Then we can start from scratch and write a bill we understand that truly addresses some of the problems in our current health care system without turning it over to the federal government to run. Can you name any federal government program that is run effectively and efficiently? I can’t. DAVID J. IMGRUND, Auburn
