Who says there are no ties in baseball?

The Placer junior varsity baseball game ended in a 2-2 tie Friday at James Field after McClatchy and the Hillmen couldn't settle things on the field after two extra innings.

Starter Thomas Radd pitched 2 1/3 innings for Placer, striking out seven batters and allowing no hits.

Colton Ranck worked the remaining 6 2/3 innings and allowed just two hits. He also fanned seven batters.

Placer, which trailed 2-0, got on the board in the bottom of the fifth when Brian Stangland scored on a McClatchy error. In the sixth, Lucas Gray scored the come-from-behind tying run for Placer (2-0-1) on another McClatchy error.
