Michael Landau to rock State Theater

The Auburn Placer Performing Arts Center presents The Michael Landau Group in concert at 8 p.m. Friday, March 16, at the State Theater, 985 Lincoln Way, Auburn. Social hour is at 7 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Landau is a widely respected session guitarist one can count on for an energetic and memorable live performance. He has toured and/or recorded with Pink Floyd, Miles Davis, Joni Mitchell, BB King, James Taylor and Rod Stewart. 

The Spring 2012 NorCal Michael Landau Group features bass player Andy Hess, who has played with John Scofield, Robben Ford, Gregg Allman, Gov’t Mule and the The Black Crowes. He is also on Landau’s new release, “Organic Instrumentals.” Rounding out the band is drummer Tom Brechtlein, formerly of Robben Ford’s Blue Line and Chick Corea’s band. Brechtlein has recorded and toured with Wayne Shorter and Jean-Luc Ponty.
