Musicians join forces for 'Music for Humanity'

Pioneer United Methodist Church will present the 23rd annual Music for Humanity program at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, at 1338 Lincoln Way, Auburn.

Musicians will perform a variety of music, including selections from classical, ragtime, jazz and contemporary genres. All performers are donating their services to benefit the Auburn Interfaith Food Closet and Foothills Habitat for Humanity.

Among the musicians playing will be ragtime pianist Tom Brier. He’ll play his favorite solos as well as accompany the Raspberry Jam Band.

The Toot Sweet Brass Co., a brass quintet, will play Bach’s “Little Fugue” and two contemporary selections.

Colla Voce of the Sierra, the Pioneer Chancel Choir and Annie Begin will also perform.

A tax-deductible offering will be collected. The public is invited to a reception after the concert hosted by the Missions Committee and church members . For information, call (530) 885-4196 or (530) 885-9009.
