Confluence Festival spotlights best of river, canyon activities
In its 18th year, the American River Confluence Festival attracted crowds to Auburn’s Overlook Park Sunday to participate in numerous activities on the American River and in the canyon. Sponsored by Protect American River Canyons, the day-long festivities featured a fun run, early bird hike and mountain bike ride during the morning. There were art projects throughout the day, booths offering rafting and other river activities, entertainment on the River Stage and many other river-themed activities. There was even a fashion show with models showcasing outfits made of recycled materials. A river blessing at 9 a.m. with artist Stan Padilla also included the Loping Wolf cedar flute players.
