New playground for Recreation Park

-A +A
The Auburn Area Recreation and Parks District hopes to unveil a new playground soon. In August a fire was started on the play equipment in Recreation Park. The fire partially destroyed the playground, causing more than $5,000 worth of damages. A new Americans with Disabilities Act playground for children ages 5 to 12 is now scheduled for installation, according to District Administrator Kahl Muscott. “The remaining damaged and undamaged sections of the existing playground will be removed over the next several days, with the new playground being installed immediately thereafter,” Muscott said. “ARD hopes to have the new playground installed and ready for use in early January. However, installation could be slowed by inclement weather.” The playground at the south end of Recreation Park will be closed during the demolition starting this week and through the installation of the new playground. A playground for children ages 0 to 5 will be open at the north end of Recreation Park. For more information call the district at (530) 885-8461 or visit ~Bridget Jones
