New principal has experience with Skyridge community

Skyridge students and parents can expect a familiar face as its new principal. The Auburn Union School District Board of Trustees hired Jenn Lewandowski as the elementary school’s new principal. According to Superintendent Michele Schuetz, Lewandowski has some experience at the school. “She actually lives in the community,” Schuetz said. “She has children at Skyridge. When Skyridge was a K through 8 she was a part-time vice principal there.” Schuetz said Lewandowski is scheduled to make an annual base salary of $83,000, an annual $7,540 in health benefits, an annual $600 car allowance and an annual $600 cell phone stipend. Out of 20 applicants, and two who were interviewed by the board, there were several reasons why Lewandowski was the right fit for the school, including that Skyridge teachers know her already, Schuetz said. “Part of it is that she knows the Skyridge community,” Schuetz said. “She is going the same direction we are in our district with professional learning communities and looking at data to support students. She’s vested in the community and she’s going to stay here. She has children going through our schools.” Lewandowski said Wednesday she is excited about the position. “I am thrilled to have been offered this position and can’t wait to get back to Skyridge School,” Lewandowski said. “As an educator, parent and community member, I can’t think of a better student group, school staff, district and parent population to work with than this one.” ~Bridget Jones
