Addie Loree Hinkey of Loomis and Joshua Neil Newby of Orangevale have announced their plans to marry July 27, 2012, in Loomis at The Flower Farm Inn.

The prospective bride graduated from Del Oro High School in 2007 and attended Sacramento State University, studying nursing, and is currently employed as medical assistant for Vista Complete Care.

Her parents are Erik  Scott and Carie Lynn Hinkey of Loomis.

The groom graduated from Casa Robles in 2004 and is employed by the U.S. Coast Guard and Penryn Fire.

His parents are William Robert Newby and Donna Jean Gaffney.

With the permission of Addie’s father, Joshua asked for Addie’s hand in marriage before deploying with the Coast Guard to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He was stationed in San Diego for mandatory training purposes before deployment. The weekend before being deployed overseas, Joshua got down on one knee and proposed at the top of Mt. Soledad, a veteran’s memorial site in San Diego.

After eight long months of being apart, the newly engaged couple will soon reunite.
