No Monday Journal today

Paper discontinues Monday edition; reminder to subscribers that news is online

Auburn Journal subscribers will not find a Monday newspaper in their driveway today.

The Journal announced last week that it would no longer print its Monday edition to cut costs and save jobs.

The paper is published Tuesday through Friday and on Sundays.
The newsroom will still upload fresh content and breaking news to Monday.

"Chicken Little need not put on his jogging shoes. The sky is not falling at the Auburn Journal. And we are not going out of business or closing our doors," Publisher Todd Frantz wrote to readers last week. "We are simply adjusting our business model to adapt with the current economic conditions, which we are all living in."

Readers can look forward to continued local news coverage in addition to new content. A look back at Placer County history starts on Wednesday and will continue weekly. What to do in the outdoors, tips and tricks for pets and day trips are also coming in May.

"Stay tuned for continued local coverage in addition to some extras," Editor Jenifer Gee said. "And, as always, we welcome your feedback."
