Noon Hour Update: Death threat text in Auburn; remedial classes at Sierra and is Del Oro grad NFL bound?

What’s happening and what we’re working on
-A +A

Welcome to the Auburn Journal’s “Noon Hour Update,” where we’ll present you with stories and updates on what’s going on in the news and what we’re working on for our Tuesday edition.

What we’re working on: Sierra College has a lot of classes that are full this fall, but some of the busiest seem to be remedial classes for subjects such as math. Reporter Amber Marra looks into this trend.

An Auburn man has been arrested for making a death threat via text message. Reporter Jon Schultz will have a story on the arrest and what happened. Jon will also be looking into sound complaints in the county when it comes to animals.

In sports, tight end Ryan Otten, a Del Oro High alumnus, is being touted as an NFL prospect. He’s also helped San Jose State turn its losing ways around.

What you’re talking about: Our story on a man who practices the Wiccan religion has readers weighing in this morning, as does our story on the house fire from Friday of last week. Read these stories and more and share your thoughts.
