Welcome to the Auburn Journal’s “Noon Hour Update,” where we’ll present you with stories and updates on what’s going on in the news and what we’re working on for our Wednesday edition.

What we’re working on:  We’re looking into the identity of a transient woman’s body, which was found Friday afternoon by Auburn Police. Reporter Jon Schultz is talking to authorities for the identification and possibly a cause of death. Jon is also looking into more of the information that came out of a Horizon Charter Schools board meeting last week in regard to facilities and the closure of two.

Del Oro High School is continuing to raise funds for a new aquatic complex. Reporter Andrew Westrope is looking into a report that was made recently about how the effort is going. Andrew will be talking with those involved and giving a status update.

Reporter Gus Thomson is looking into a dredging project at Lake Combie. He’ll be examining the method for the project, its impact and why it’s being done. Gus is also looking into the cause of a fire that happened in Pilot Hill recently.

What you’re talking about: In Opinion several of our letter writers’ thoughts have people weighing in with their comments. Read the letters “How will Auburn take to Walmart?” and “Draw a bead on nuke warheads” and share your views.
