-A +A

Welcome to the Auburn Journal's "Noon Hour Update," where we'll present you with stories and updates on what's going on in the news and what we're working on for our Wednesday edition.

What we're working on: As we get closer to the June 5 election we continue our coverage of local candidates. Reporter Gus Thomson is reporting on the campaign finances of the 3rd District of the Placer County Board of Supervisors race.

Reporter Justin A. Lawson is working on the impact on runners using the toe-shaped shoes that has prompted the "barefoot" running craze.

Reporter Sara Seyydin is profiling local leaders that are shadowing people in town to see what they're doing in the community.

In tomorrow's Food & Wine section, Journal Features Editor Krissi Khokhobashvili writes about the Holiday Inn's Friday Night Flights wine-tasting event.

What you're talking about: Our story, "Local woman says finding help for abused woman was difficult," has received plenty of views and several comments so far today. Read the story and share your thoughts.
In Opinion, several Letters to the Editor have gotten comments and have prompted discussions. On the heels of Memorial Day, the letter "Auburn celebrates veterans in a big way" has readers talking. Share your thoughts on this letter and others in Opinion.
