Noon Hour Update: Hospital’s digital upgrade; Fatal wreck on 49 and Newcastle Fire concerns
Welcome to the Auburn Journal’s “Noon Hour Update,” where we’ll present you with stories and updates on what’s going on in the news and what we’re working on for our Sunday edition.
What we’re working on: Reporter Gus Thomson is following up on a fatal car wreck on Highway 49 near Lonestar Road. Gus is also working on a story about Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital’s plan to upgrade its operating rooms to all digital.
Reporter Amber Marra is looking into concerns of Newcastle residents over the current fire station and a November ballot measure that asks residents to reform Measure B, which provides funding to the Newcastle Fire Department. Amber is also compiling information about enrollment numbers at Auburn area schools and what those figures mean to parents and students.
In Lifestyle, Journal Features Editor Krissi Khokhobashvili is putting together a story about Unity Church's upcoming World Day of Prayer.
