Welcome to the Auburn Journal’s “Noon Hour Update,” where we’ll present you with stories and updates on what’s going on in the news and what we’re working on for our Wednesday edition.

What we’re working on: What do the property owners who sold their land for phase 1 of the Baltimore Ravine development think of the news that the United Auburn Indian Community is the owner of the land? Reporter Jon Schultz is working to find out as he writes a story on their reaction to the recent revelation that the UAIC owns the development.

Reporter Andrew Westrope is reporting on the Auburn Union School District’s progress on installing video surveillance at its facilities.

Reporter Gus Thomson sat in on the Placer County Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday and will have a report on some of the agenda items addressed.

Looking for a unique way to celebrate Valentine’s Day? Read about the Taste of Chocolate event going on in Old Town Auburn in this week’s edition of Food & Wine.

What you’re talking about: Our story on the vehicle wreck on Auburn Folsom Road Sunday has many readers sharing their thoughts. Another story receiving comment includes our piece on the Higgins Fire Protection District putting on a special election to raise funds. Read these stories and more and weigh in with your thoughts.
