Welcome to the Auburn Journal’s “Noon Hour Update,” where we’ll present you with stories and updates on what’s going on in the news and what we’re working on for our Tuesday edition.

What we’re working on:  Auburn and the surrounding communities are coming out of a wet and wild weekend of weather today. Reporter Gus Thomson is looking into how the Auburn community withstood the deluge and what damage is left behind. Gus is also seeing where the proceedings stand in the 42-year-old drowning case involving a 4-year-old.

Auburn’s City Council meets tonight and Reporter Jon Schultz will be on hand and will have a story on the items discussed and decisions made during Monday’s meeting.

In sports Tuesday, look for a profile on this year’s version of the Del Oro High School varsity boys basketball team.

What you’re talking about:  Several stories from our weekend coverage have online readers sharing their opinions about the subject matter. Some of the stories that have received interest are our pieces on the Auburn medical marijuana dispensary and the soldier’s funeral procession through Auburn. Read these stories and more and share your thoughts.
