A homeless man is under arrest for attempted murder after the Placer County Sheriff’s Office allege he torched another homeless man’s tent and burned him Tuesday. Raymond Carrillo, 39, and the victim had an argument in a field off Highway 49, near Luther Road, where the two men were camping with others, the Sheriff’s Office reported. Shortly after the argument, Carrillo threw an accelerant into the man’s tent and lit it on fire, investigators allege. The 50-year-old victim suffered second-degree burns to his face, hands and legs. The victim told detectives that he walked to an area nearby and rested for the remainder of the night. Deputies were called to Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital Wednesday morning after he sought treatment for his injuries. Carrillo is being held without bail on arson and attempted murder charges. – Journal Staff Report
