Thank you for a very thought-provoking article (“Locals ask Sheriff to investigate Obama,” Journal, May 9).
The Obama supporters would like you to think that this is a matter of race. It is just the opposite.
Obama was never vetted. Hawaii would not place him on the ballot because he would not prove to them he was eligible. Hawaii contacted Nancy Pelosi, who at that time was the Democratic National Committee chair. She signed to place him on the ballot. That action constituted fraud and perjury.
In a court case, Minor v. Happersett in 1875, the judges defined a natural-born citizen as a citizen born of two citizen parents. There were three other cases in which the Supreme Court concluded the same as the Minor v. Happersett case.
Regardless of whether Obama was born in Hawaii or not does not constitute natural-born status. His father was a British subject and according to their law Obama was born a dual citizen. Nothing will ever change that. If he was indeed born in Hawaii he is a citizen but not a natural-born citizen as required by our Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, Clause 5 which states “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of 35 Years, and been 14 Years a Resident within the United States.”
There is also speculation that the copy of his birth certificate was PDF-generated and is not a legitimate birth certificate. It appears we will never know the truth as all his records are sealed. That action alone would make someone suspicious that things are not quite on the up and up and he is hiding something. His college records are also sealed leaving some to believe that he attended college as a foreign student receiving foreign aid.
It would be nice if he was required to show proof of eligibility before being placed on the ballot. But one fact is known. He is not a natural-born citizen and therefore cannot legally be placed on the ballot.
