Organize all the workers

Fred Colburn (“Curb unions for greater good,” Reader Input, Oct. 24) claims California budgetary problems result from state union workers’ income being higher than the average wage (which, by the way, continues to slip in comparison with our cost of living).
Try this for a fix: Organize all workers so their wages will approach the decent living offered to state union workers. The increased income to the currently eroding middle class will result in more spending which will fuel an economy that will generate more tax revenue at all levels ... like it used to be when unions were stronger in general.
