Pair arrested in burglary, identity theft spree

Auburn, CA - Two suspects have been arrested on burglary and identity theft charges in connection with a string of home and vehicle break-ins over the past several weeks.

In a joint operation between the Auburn Police Department and the Placer County Sheriff's Office, Samuel Ashlock and Michelle Hesson were arrested Wednesday, Feb. 22. Ashlock was detained in Colfax and Hesson was apprehended in Auburn.

Auburn Police say the two allegedly stole credit cards and they were used in local businesses to make unauthorized purchases. Both suspects were booked on multiple charges of burglary and identity theft. Ashlock has also been charged with a parole violation and is being held without bail. Hesson's bail has been set at $120,000.

Anyone who has been a victim of a recent theft from their vehicle or residence, and have not already filed a report, are asked to contact their local law enforcement agency to file a report.
