Parade brings ‘Light’ to the holiday season

Community members can enjoy a kickoff to the holiday season Saturday. One hundred entries are expected at this year’s Festival of Lights Parade, “The Light in a Child’s Eyes.” The parade begins at 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Lincoln Way and Cherry Street and ends at the Gold Country Fairgrounds. If it rains, the parade will be rescheduled to Sunday, according to Steve Galyardt, chairman of the event. This year’s parade features Auburn’s cycling clubs as grand marshals, represented by the owners of Auburn Bike Works, Bicycle Emporium and Victory Velo.
