Parade needs better signage

As other readers have commented, I too enjoyed the (Auburn) Veterans Day parade. I think it’s a fantastic event that makes me proud and I will continue to support it. However, I feel the parade could benefit from a little additional focus. At times I was uncertain as to whether I was watching a hot-rod, beauty pageant or veterans’ parade. And the green Dodge pickup, windows rolled up, no signage and a folding table sticking out the back of the bed haphazardly — what was up with that? To me it seemed disrespectful. In the future, appropriate signage (that can be read from the sidewalks) indicating who the participants represent and maybe a more logical grouping/line-up of the participants would go a long way in focusing on what the parade is meant for — honoring veterans.
