Community 1st Bank adds loan officer Community 1st Bank has named Geoff Miller as senior vice president/ commercial loan officer. He has nearly 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Miller has held various managerial positions in the banking business and is highly respected in the industry throughout the Sacramento region, officials said. Prior to joining Community 1st Bank, he served as vice president and branch manager for Bank of the West in Carmichael. “We’re really excited about Geoff becoming part of our team,” said Robert Haydon, president and CEO of Community 1st Bank. “He demonstrates a high level of knowledge in commercial and SBA real estate lending. Geoff gives added strength to our management group and was the ideal candidate for this position.” Miller spent more than a decade as a manager with Western Union Financial Services and First Data Corporation, where he held a number of key positions, including regional sales manager for Northern California and Nevada. Miller, who lives in Roseville, is currently district chairman for the Iron Horse District-Golden Empire Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He and his wife Brenda have a daughter, three sons (who are all Eagle Scouts) and two grandchildren. Dentist receives fellowship award Auburn dentist Dr. Mark D. Phipps has earned a fellowship status in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. The ICOI bestows the honor on dental professionals involved in dental implant treatment. Powers brings five years of consulting experience in all aspects of Qualified Retirements Plans. She is well known throughout Northern California among retirement plan professionals for her communication skills and is especially adept at conducting continuing education seminars for CPAs and financial advisers, officials said. Metzker is chamber vice president Carolyn Metzker, Realtor with Lyon Real Estate, was inducted as incoming vice president at the Auburn Chamber of Commerce installation and awards dinner Jan. 7 Metzker has served three years as an Auburn Chamber board member and was recognized by the organization as the 2009 Rising Star for her volunteercontributions to business and the Auburn community, according to a press release. She is also a 2008 Leadership Auburn alumni. Currently, Metzker is working with a task force to form a consistent marketing strategy for the chamber and enhance membership efforts. “I am excited to be a part of the Auburn Chamber’s executive team and work with the board to charter an even brighter future for the chamber,” she said. “We have a fantastic board full of talent and passion for the Auburn community.” As a Realtor, Metzker assists buyers, sellers and investors throughout the region.
