Child Advocates of Placer County has named Elizabeth Axelgard to its board of directors, recognizing her volunteer work for the organization and tapping into her expertise as a Placer County business leader, a press release said.

Axelgard has spent the two years volunteering with at-risk Placer County youth through the A2Y Mentors program. In addition to her work in the community, Axelgard is a top Realtor with Lyon Real Estate, consistently producing home sales in the top 5 percent for the regional real estate firm, the release said.

Child Advocates of Placer County connects foster youth, former foster youth, at-risk youth and at-risk parents with well-trained and caring adult volunteer mentors and Court Appointed Special Advocates  or CASAs.

“In the short time that Elizabeth has been on the board she has already brought in numerous sponsors for our golf event, new candidates for board seats, and recruits to become mentors and CASAs,” Child Advocates of Placer County Executive Director Don Kleinfelder said. “Elizabeth is an ideal board member, and we look forward to her strong support as we expand the scope of Child Advocates of Placer County.”
