Perry, Ittner lead Colfax

Colfax High’s Austin Perry and Maddi Ittner led the way for the Falcon track team at last Friday’s John O Invitational held at Yuba College.

Perry, who set a school record in the boys shot put at 55 feet 2 inches two weeks ago, threw in windy conditions and came away with a first-place effort with a mark of 48 feet 9 inches.

Perry also doubled up in the discus for the first time this season and won that event with a mark of 133 feet 4 inches. Following for the Falcons were Jeromy Cabodi (128-5) in second place and Mark Larner (121-5) who was fifth.

Maddi Ittner also fared well for the Falcons as she was first in the discus at 106 feet and second in the shot put at 33 feet 2.5 inches. Carly Walker was seventh in the discus (79-0), while Meg Korf was eighth in the shot put (27-9).

Colfax also had another winning effort in the varsity girls 800 meters by Madi Newman who won in a time of 2:33.64.

Colfax resumes its track schedule next Wednesday when the Falcons host Bear River in a Pioneer Valley League dual meet starting at 3:30 p.m.
