Power has been restored 2,400 PG&E customers in Rocklin, including the entire Sierra College campus, after a tree branch fell on a power line, causing about a 90-minute-long outage.

Most classes continued through the blackout, though some instructors opted to cancel, said college spokesperson Sue Michaels.

“We just left it to the instructors’ discretion,” Michaels said. “So some classes were canceled, but most, I think, stayed in session, because most of our classrooms have windows and don’t require a computer.”

The outage lasted from 9:45 to 11:09 a.m. and affected 2,476 customers along Rocklin Road from Grove Street east to Sierra College Boulevard, PG&E spokesperson Brandi Ehlers said.
