Phelps’ medals tarnished by his mother’s stories

Sure, Michael Phelps’ 100-meter butterfly win was exhilarating, and his eight gold medal performances were amazing, but do we have to listen to his mother tell stories? Phelps was picked on years prior by a certain boy, so he pretended not to know him. What about being honest? Isn’t that more glorious than winning medals? Some may say Phelps is a hero.
