Placer boys hoops camp June 11-15
The annual Placer High boys basketball camp will run June 11-15 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 at Placer.
The camp is for players going into third through ninth grades. Cost for the camp is $70 for pre-registered participants or $80 at the door. Entry fee includes a t-shirt, basketball and one week of basketball fundamentals, games and contests.

Softball marathon set for June 23-24
The inaugural Christina Stamps — Council Memorial Appendix Cancer Awareness 44-hour Softball Marathon will take place June 23-24 at Regional Park in Auburn.
The softball tournament will begin June 23 at midnight and is open to Men’s Upper D, Men’s E, women’s and co-ed teams.
Cost is $325 per team, plus a $25 ASA registration fee. There is a three-game guarantee.
Proceeds will go toward establishing two scholarships in Christina Stamps’ name at Three Rivers, Texas and Chana High School in Auburn.

Forest Lake hosting soccer camp June 11-14
Forest Lake Christian School will host the Fearless Soccer Camp June 11-14.
Campers in third through eighth grade will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day. High school players will be on the field from 1 p.m. to 4. Cost is $85 and includes a camp t-shirt. Funds raised from the camps will go toward the Falcons soccer programs.

Placer girls basketball camp coming in June
The Placer High girls basketball program will hold its annual camps in June at the school.
The camp for kids entering third through eighth grades will be held June 11-15 from 1 p.m. to 4. Cost is $75 for campers registered before June 1 and $85 thereafter.
Incoming freshmen are invited to basketball camp June 11-15 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 each day. The $100 fee includes summer league games and tournaments.

Baseball Factory tryout June 24 at Sierra College
The Under Armour Baseball Factory national tryout will take place June 24 at Sierra College in Rocklin. All baseball players ages 12-14 are encouraged to attend.

Youth golf camps at The Ridge this summer
Placer High girls golf coach Carol French will host a series of golf camps for junior high and high school boys and girls this summer at The Ridge Golf Course in Auburn.
The camps will consist of three days of instruction followed by course play on the fourth day. Sessions run from 4 p.m. to 6:30 each day. Cost for the camp is $100 and includes green fees. Dates for the camps are June 18-21, July 9-12, July 16-19 and July 30-Aug. 2.

Chips 4 a Cause golf/poker tournament June 17
The Chips 4 a Cause golf and poker tournament is scheduled for June 17 at Black Oak Golf Course in Auburn. The event is a benefit for longtime Auburn resident Eric Shaw, who had a stroke two years ago.
There will be a scramble format golf tournament, followed by a poker tournament. The shotgun start is at 7:30 a.m. Cost is $55 per player, which includes nine holes of golf, cart, range balls, prizes, a t-shirt, entry to the poker tournament and breakfast and lunch.

Auburn City Fire Golf Tournament June 22 at The Ridge
The Auburn Hook and Ladder Company No. 1 is sponsoring the seventh annual Auburn City Fire Golf Tournament at The Ridge Golf Course in Auburn on Friday, June 22 at 1 p.m.
The tournament is the Hook and Ladder’s primary annual fundraising event to support and promote fire protection and safety in the Auburn community.

ARD bringing back adult volleyball
ARD will host a free introduction to adult intermediate volleyball through June 22 to help promote its Tuesday and Friday morning programs.
Men ages 50 and up and women ages 45 and up are welcome to participate in the free clinic. Adult volleyball meets from 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday and Friday. Teams are formed after a warm-up period and spend the rest of the time playing three-touch volleyball.
