Placer High hosts free physicals for athletes tonight

Placer High is offering free physicals tonight to all athletes who plan to participate in athletics at the school during the 2010-11 school year. The physicals will take place in Placer’s library area and start at 6 p.m. Auburn Ski Club hosts outdoor gear sale Auburn Ski Club will hold an outdoor rep sample sale at the club’s training center at the west end of Boreal’s parking lot on May 30. The sale runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature deals on outdoor gear from several reps selling off their samples to make room for next season’s products, including cross-country skiing, hiking, camping and cycling, as well as low prices on shoes for outdoor function and fashion. Placer girls and boys hoops camps approaching The Placer High girls and boys basketball camps are slated for June 14-18 at Placer’s Earl Crabbe Gym. The camps are open to kids going into third grade through eighth grade. Varsity head coaches Tony Camillucci and Mark Lee will direct the girls and boys camps, respectively. Current and former Placer players will serve as instructors. The boys camp will run from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each day and the girls will follow from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $65 for the girls camp and $70 for the boys camp before June 1. City Seminary golf tournament June 25 City Seminary will host its annual “Mission to the City” Scholarship Fund golf tournament at The Ridge on June 25. The tournament starts at 11 a.m. and proceeds benefit the school’s scholarship fund. Discounts are offered for foursomes with pastors. Registration is available at www.cityseminarygolf.com.
