Placer still untouched in the PVL

Placer High’s singles players and boys doubles teams remained unbeaten on the season as the Hillmen swept Lincoln 9-0 Tuesday afternoon at Placer. Dan Fraguglia and Will Huskey mowed down their opponents in boys singles. Amelia Arnold won a topsy-turvy 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 decision at No. 1 girls singles and Tori Winters rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2. Dan Ragusano and Cameron McCallister teamed up for a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 boys doubles. Brad Ray and Marco Varela won in shutout sets at No. 2. In girls doubles, Andrea Jilot and Amy VonGroningen were 6-4, 6-3 winners. Melissa Stoll and Bailey Bill posted a 6-0, 6-2 win. Phillip Schoenhoff and Jenny Anthony cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win in mixed doubles for Placer (7-0 Pioneer Valley League). Whitney 6, Colfax 3 at Rocklin — The Falcons were doubled up by the Wildcats on the road despite a 6-1, 6-2 win from Josh Parker at No. 1 boys singles. Rachel Fritz picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 2 girls singles. Erin Katsura and Carissa Millanes won their No. 1 girls doubles match 6-4, 6-4 for Colfax (3-4 PVL). Forest Lake 6, San Juan 3 at Lake of the Pines — Senior Caitlin Hanson remained perfect in the Central Valley Christian League with a 6-4, 6-1 win to lead the undefeated Falcons. Ashton Sante rallied for a 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5) win in his match at No. 1 singles. Ali Weir and Amanda Timmerman had a 10-1 win at No. 1 girls doubles. Colin Rafter and Nathan Burnett won 10-2 at NO. 1 boys doubles as Forest Lake improved to 9-0 in the Golden Empire League. San Juan forfeited both No. 2 doubles matches.
