The Placer High tennis team won all but the girls doubles matches in a 7-2 Pioneer Valley League win over Colfax Tuesday afternoon. Andy Riggs beat Josh Parker 6-3, 7-5 at No. 1 boys singles and Dan Fraguglia defeated Justin Witt in straight sets at No. 2. Cameron McCallister and Dan Ragusano cruised past Kevin McCollum and Brett Bryan 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 boys doubles. Marco Barela and Brad Ray beat Kyle Borges and Derek Ikedes 6-1, 6-1. Amelia Arnold was a 6-0, 6-1 winner over Colfax’s Rachel Fritz at No. 1 and Tori Winters held off Laura Zajac 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2. The Falcons (1-3 PVL) recorded both victories in girls doubles. Erin Katsura and Claudia Millsner won 6-4, 6-4 over Amy VanGroningen and Andrea Jilot at No. 1. Katy Jenkins and Kristen Kelly beat Bailey Bill and Melissa Stoll, 4-6, 7-6 (10-6). Drew Bischel and Jenny Anthony teamed up for a 6-2, 7-6 win over Eric Graves and Jessica Sanchez in mixed doubles. Forest Lake Christian 6, Capital Christian 3 at Lake of the Pines — The Falcons’ strength on the girls side made the difference. Caitlin Hanson won by forfeit at No. 1 girls singles and Jen Menary cruised 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2. Ally Weir and Amanda Timmerman teamed up for a 10-1 win at No. 1 girls doubles, while Courtney Turner and Holly McClain were 10-0 victors at No. 2. After Colin Rafter and Nathan Burnett suffered their first defeat of the season at No. 1 boys doubles, Troy Douglas and Jordan Farewell won 10-7 at No. 2. Megan Jug and Tony Nicosia won mixed doubles 10-5. Del Oro 7, Roseville 2 at Johnson Ranch — The Golden Eagles remained perfect in the Sierra Foothill League with another convincing win. Del Oro (4-0 SFL) swept the top four singles matches. Brett Bacharach won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1, Andrew Milton was a 6-4, 7-6 (4) winner at No. 2, Brandon Bailey triumphed 1-6, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 and Garrett Dahlin prevailed in straight sets at No. 4. Taylor Carrington and Nick Koop teamed up for a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles. Paul Villa and Brandt Steinmetz were 6-1, 6-0 winners at No. 2 and Spencer Kline and Seth Alquist won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3.
