The streak stays alive.
Placer High’s tennis team picked up its 76th straight Pioneer Valley League victory Thursday, beating Bear River 6-3 in Auburn.
By virtue of Colfax topping Center, the Hillmen (8-0) also clinched the league title.
In singles matches on the girls side both Clare McInerney (6-3, 6-0) and Kirstin Schauble (7-5, 6-1) earned victories. It was the first time this season either McInerney or Schauble had not played in doubles matches.
On the boys side, No. 1 Andrew Carducci (6-1, 6-4) and No. 2 Andrew Dahlin triumphed.
Placer swept the boys doubles with the first team of Kyle Fontes and Robert Kuklica winning 6-3, 6-0 and second team of Brennan Entz and Kyle Hedden taking a 6-3, 6-1 decision.
Entz and Hedden had been working hard for two weeks to avenge a prior three-set defeat opponents Garrett Kenes and Hayden Moore.
Placer goes for No. 77 Monday when the Hillmen host Lincoln for senior day at 3:30 p.m.
