The Placer High tennis team swept past Woodcreek 9-0 Thursday afternoon in Roseville, improving to 8-0 in the Sierra Foothill League. At No. 1 singles, Andy Sugg cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win while Hudson Arnold won a 6-4, 6-1 decision at No. 2. Andy Riggs was a 6-3, 6-1 winner at No. 3 and Chris Warmuth posted a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4. Matt Chun rolled to a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 5 and Phillip Barnett pulled out a 7-6, 6-2 win at No. 6. Josh Borg and Brian Swart took a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles. David George and Josh Virgil rallied for a 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 2 and Joel Ross and Drew Bischel had a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3. Del Oro 9, Monterey Trail 0 at Loomis - The Golden Eagles didn't drop a set in sweeping the Mustangs at home. Tony Bulich was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at No. 1 singles while Ted Wyatt won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2. Mitch Bezair rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3, Matt Winger shut out his opponent at No. 4, Jake Lehner wona 6-1, 6-1 decision at No. 5 and Nick Huppe took a 6-3, 6-0 match at No. 6. Cody Gragg and Cody Sanders won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. Ryan Sayer and Andrew Milton had a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2 and Taylor Carrington and Rowan Young posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 3. Mira Loma 7, Colfax 2 at Sacramento - The Matadors tripped up the Falcons, handing them their first Pioneer Valley League loss. Colfax's girls singles players were the lone winners in a tight match. Kari Zajac rebounded from a first-set loss for a 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 1 while Heidi Graves won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2.
