Two Placer basketball players were recently awarded major kudos.

Senior Isaiah Pineiro, who played football and basketball this season for the Hillmen, made Cal-Hi Sports' annual All-State Grid-Hoop Teams.

As a safety, Pineiro had nine interceptions for the 11-1 Hillmen. In basketball, Pineiro helped lead Placer to a 20-9 season, recording a double-double in just about every game of the season.

Former Placer standout Charles Brodhead, a sophomore at Barclay College, was named to 2012-13 all-Midwest Christian College Conference team.

Brodhead averaged 19 points and seven rebounds playing the small forward position for the Bears, who went 8-2 in MCCC play.
