Police arrest suspect in alleged business break-in

Auburn Police officers responding to a reported break-in at 380 Nevada St. Friday made an arrest at the scene, Sgt.?Gary Hopping said in a press release. The suspect, David Michael Fuchs, 23, was booked in Placer County Jail on a burglary charge, Hopping said. The incident happened at about 6:20 p.m. when William Eisley notified the police department that he saw an unknown person enter his closed and locked building, the report said. Five officers from the Auburn Police Department responded and surrounded the business. Officer Stan Hamelin coordinated the scene and subsequently found an open door at the back of the business, according to the press release. At the door, Hamelin verbally called into the business and warned the intruder that a K-9 would enter and possibly bite him. A short time later Fuchs presented himself and was taken into custody without incident, the report said. ~ Staff report
