Central Division II skiers and snowboarders from Bear River, Colfax and Placer High will have to wait at least another week to wrap up their respective regular racing seasons. Several fresh feet of snow over the past week postponed the final ski race of the Central Division II season Friday. That race, a slalom event, is scheduled to be held at Sugar Bowl on Feb. 27. Monday’s snowboard giant slalom was also postponed. That race will now conclude the regular season on Feb. 27 at Boreal following a Feb. 23 giant slalom at Squaw Valley. The Feb. 23 race could be rescheduled if next weekend’s storm also brings significant snow accumulations, according to division director Jack Morgan. Qualifying skiers and snowboarders from the three high schools will then join athletes from around the state next month when the state championships take place at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area in Mammoth Lakes. The snowboarders will take over the resort March 9 and 10 before yielding way to the skiers on March 11 and 12.
