Prop.8 defines marriage, doesn’t eliminate rights

-A +A
Hi, my name is Logan Sprouse. I am 14 years of age and I would like to tell you my feelings on Proposition 8 (marriage between the same sex). First, I would like to clarify that Proposition 8 is not against homosexual people. I truly believe that everyone should find their own happiness and has a right to choose for themselves how they want to live their life. Proposition 8 is just stating that “Only marriage between a man and women is valid or recognized in California.” Proposition 8 will not take any rights or benefits from gay or lesbian partners. Under California law, “Domestic partners shall have the same rights, protections, and benefits.” There are no exceptions to this. And Proposition 8 will not change this. It just clarifies that marriage is meant to be between a man and a woman. Marriage is more than a contract between two people. Logan Sprouse Newcastle
