Public waking up to reality

We are all aware of the bad part of a recession that creates misery from unemployment but perhaps there is a good part. Prior to this current recession, our government “leaders” were quietly setting themselves up with crazy salaries, benefits, pensions, expense accounts, etc. with no one to answer to. Now, in this recession, these things come to light and the noise starts. To wit, Lincoln’s highly paid administrative people and an assistant city manager to boot; the $500,000 executive director of the California School Boards Association; the city of Bell, Calif. (population 40,000) dumping their top three “leaders” who were paying themselves $1.6 million per year and now the city of Lincoln blowing $54,000 to convince us to pass Measure K.
