Put union to use at capitol

There truly is a collective insanity under the dome in Sacramento. When even the king of new and bigger government, Senate Pro Tem “Cap D” Darrell Steinberg, says there’s no more money, it must be true. Yet there is no shortage of special interest groups, employee unions and lawmakers lined up with helpful new ideas that only require more and more of your tax dollars. Perhaps the one state employee union that shouldn’t be hit with an additional 5 percent cut is the 7,000 member-strong California Association of Psychiatric Technicians. They should instead be reassigned to the capitol itself, where the need for their services is obvious. John Chase, Rocklin
