Pioneer Valley League Commissioner Bill Flake told the Journal Friday that Placer's wrestling team clinched a share of the league title last night after beating Bear River.

Flake said there was apparently a confusion between how the league title would be determined.

Next week, Center and Foothill will square off in the PVL finale. Both teams have one loss. The winner with be named co-champion with Placer (3-1).

Placer, however, lost earlier in the season to Center. So if Center beats Foothill, Placer will be the No. 2 seed from the PVL in the CIF Team Tournament D-III at Lincoln of Stockton on Feb. 2. Should Foothill beat Center, Placer would be the No. 1 seed from the PVL in the team tournament.
