John Albert Dummett, Jr. (Reader Input, Aug. 12) will be a good Republican Party presidential candidate since the Republicans are doing everything they can to make President Obama look bad. Barack Obama has been accused of being born in Kenya. There are still many who choose not to accept the birth certificate proving that he was born in Hawaii two years after it became a state. Article II of the U.S. Constitution states that in order to be president, a person must be a natural-born citizen of the United States, must be at least 35 years old and must have been a resident of the United States for 14 years. It does not say anything about both parents being naturalized before any progeny is born. The Constitution didn’t define what a “natural-born citizen” was so Mr. Dummett’s statements are not based on facts. Roger Perkins, Auburn
