Raising taxes won’t cure ills

I was glad to hear that the governor and the Legislature passed the current budget without raising taxes. After the $12.5 billion in tax increases loaded onto Californians earlier this year, our economy really can’t handle any additional taxes. What the Legislature needs to do now is help businesses grow the economy and create jobs! The current budget will cause real pain to real people but history has shown that a strong economy, not more taxes on working families, is the way to solve our state’s budget problems and ensure proper funding for education, public safety and other critical programs.
