Reach out to a hurting world

Christmas is a time of giving of ourselves. It’s about helping others more than ourselves. It’s giving what little we have without return. It’s about reaching out to the hurting world and asking nothing for ourselves. When done, we prosper from within because we feel good about someone else. It’s not about a Christmas tree or gifts, it’s about saving a life from a cruel world. It brings the light of happiness into a dark struggle for existence. This brings life back to a dead soul. It offers love to a lonely torment. It causes a ray of hope in a hopeless situation. It’s about reaching out to someone who is dying from within and offering rescue from the ravages of indifference. Uniting in this effort would truly be a happy and tolerable place to be in. ALLEN CASSIDY, Auburn
