Reader Input: Let people marry freely

-A +A

I think gay marriage should be allowed in Placer County and California. I believe it is extremely unfair for people in Placer County and the rest of California to be against this.
Also, we should have a count of all the gay couples in Placer County, and if there is a large amount of them, it should definitely be legalized (even though it should be legalized anyway).
It really does not matter if the people who want to get married are gay or not. In fact, this is a lot like the huge prejudice against African-American people back in the early 1900s.
We believe it is not a big deal right now to be against gay marriage, but truthfully, being against it is just like the prejudice against the African-American people. There is no good reason for this to be illegal. In fact, gay marriage should be legal everywhere in the world; people should be allowed to marry who they want to marry!
This is basically the same as you wanting to marry someone, but you cannot, because other people don’t want you to. You would probably think that is very unfair. Well, that’s what gay couples in Placer County think!
If you are against gay marriage, try to imagine yourself in a Placer County’s gay couple’s place, and reconsider your opinion.
