Governor Romney’s first debate against President Obama was a universally acclaimed theatrical victory.
However, it might be that Mitt’s victory could utterly undo him. He stated ObamaCare’s Medicare Cost Control Board would ration health care; which was false. He denied he would cut education’s budget after previously saying, he would make it a heck of a lot smaller. After promising to repeal the Dodd-Frank financial regulations he agreed financial regulations were necessary. He championed putting the elderly at the mercy of private insurance by changing Medicare into a voucher system. Most importantly he wants to help balance a 5 trillion dollar tax cut for the wealthy, without borrowing from China, by cutting the tiny subsidy to PBS and Big Bird; additionally he would do this rather than stop multi-billion dollar subsidies to oil companies. And he never explained why taxing the rich to pay our bills might be a better idea than borrowing money from China.
Republicans act out their idea that the way to create jobs is to fire teachers, policeman, fireman, other public employees, and now even Big Bird and Elmo. Romney wants to pauperize retirees by changing Social Security and Medicare. He wants us to believe the wealthy are going to trickle down their bail-outs and billion dollar corporate welfare to the middle class. Now how well has that worked since the Tea Party Republicans have controlled the House? And is there any doubt about the policies of Governor Romney or the disaster his election would create?
