Reader Input: Purge at the ballot box

-A +A

From the 50,000-foot level, the continued blame game is a national disgrace and a direct result of gerrymandering of the election process and the attendant ideological rigidity of a group of extremists in the House of Representatives, who believe they are beholden only to their direct constituents and not the greater good and refuse to negotiate anything.
Virtually all responsible economists stress the importance of common-sense, targeted reduction in spending coupled with revenue generation through closing tax loopholes is important to any recovery solution.
We’re attempting to recover from the greatest economic recession since the Great Depression and need everyone pulling the wagon in a negotiated direction.
This “shoot-yourself-in-the-foot/open-mouth-insert-foot” serves only to delay our economic recovery, which is the only way to attack our deficit, credit rating and revenue generation issues.
Everybody has to give a little and get rid of this “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead” B.S. A political judgement day is ahead and these ideological purists must be purged at the ballot box.
