Michael Keeffe’s letter was interesting in that he wants us to support the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution (“Blaming the weapon misses the mark,” Reader Input, Dec. 27).
That’s OK, but he is selective and doesn’t want to support the First Amendment that “prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion.”
If you want to bring God back in the schools, which one will you choose? Sorry, but as much as you and some others who write to the Auburn Journal would like it to be, this is not a Christian nation. People are free to believe or disbelieve whatever they want.
Religion is a private, personal matter and has no place in our school system.
