As we begin the new year we can turn to a new page in our life’s book, and realize that it’s not the burdens of life that weigh us down, but it’s how we handle them.
I read that an eagle knows when a storm is coming long before it breaks. It will fly to a very high spot and wait for the winds. When the storm hits, the eagle sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm is raging below, the eagle is soaring above it. What a lesson for us! The eagle doesn’t escape the storm; it simply uses it to fly higher.
We are going through a tremendous storm in our country, in many homes and individually, but like the eagle we can rise above it. We can allow God’s power to lift us up. “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles.” Isaiah 40:31.
In spite of all that is going on, we still have so much for which to be thankful. We still have our freedom, and more than ever, we need to pray for those that continue to protect us. May we all have a blessed new year, and be assured that God is still in control.
We are “One Nation under God” and let’s continue to acknowledge that. This is such a wonderful thought to begin our new year with. So just remember that. “Those that judge us don’t matter, but those that matter don’t judge us!” Have a wonderful new rear and God bless us all.
