Thank you for the fine, informative article by Gus Thomson (“Placer elections chief seeks absentee ballots ASAP,” Journal, Nov. 2), a timely interview with Placer County’s elections chief Jim McCauley to get our votes-by-mail ballots in as quickly as possible before Tuesday. Well said and appreciated.
I had always carried my ballot to the polls thinking that was the best way. I often wondered how it would then be kept apart from all the ballots processed through the voter machine and counted as they were inserted, and still my absentee ballot, in an envelope which would have to be opened and processed and counted, evidently much later.
I will take the tip and get it to the voting place before Tuesday. Thank you very much.
